Here at BB Insurance Marketing we tend to see some pretty interesting things when it comes to policies or insurance claims, so we’re used to seeing some weird stuff. News stories and crimes around the world are getting more farfetched and wild in this digital age, so we thought we would bring some of these stories to light. As you know, there’s only two more days ‘till the weekend, and there’s no better way to spend “Hump Day” then checking out these “weird web stories” courtesy of BBIMI.

A Good Ol’ Fashioned Gator Party

A Florida man has come up with a creative idea to speed up his business during slow seasons. Bob Barrett, owner of The Alligator Attraction, is taking his show on the road and renting out his baby alligators for children’s birthday parties. Yes, for a small fee, Bob will come to your house and have your children swim with his alligators for all birthday parties and special occasions. No folks, Bob doesn’t just toss alligators in the pool with your kids. He is constantly supervising the entire time and obviously the baby gators have their mouths taped shut. According to Bob, “People were leery at the beginning but it has taken off.” (via Huffington Post)

Where Did I Put My Pistol?

A Fort Pierce father was arrested and jailed last Saturday for placing a loaded handgun into his son’s backpack. The boy’s teacher found the weapon and notified the authorities. According to reports, the man accidentally placed his handgun into his son’s backpack and forgot he put it there. When asked why his father needed a weapon, the boy responded it was for protection because someone wanted to “knock him (the father) out.” (via TC Palm)

Please, Florida…Stop Driving Into Our Buildings

The US Postal Service has released a series of helpful tips for drivers in Florida because simply, they will not stop crashing into their post office locations. In 2012, there have been 8 reports of people crashing into Floridian post offices with their cars. Some of the tips include, “Avoid distracted driving; Visibly check to see whether your foot is on the gas pedal or the brake pedal,” and “Visibly check to see if the vehicle is in Park, Reverse or Drive.” This gives a whole to meaning to on-site delivery.
