Candidates From The Crypt

Yesterday was Election Day and many candidates across the United States either won or lost their respective elections. Florida’s Earl K. Wood and Alabama’s Charles Beasley were among two of the winners of yesterday’s events. However, these two winning candidates died weeks before the election. Apparently, the voters did not realize the candidates were dead and voted for them anyway. The candidates who lost to the deceased politicians should’ve used the campaign slogan, “I’m alive, and he’s not.” That probably would’ve locked up a few more votes. (via Yahoo! News)

A Punishment Fit For An Idiot

An Ohio woman pleaded guilty to not stopping for a school bus and for careless driving earlier this week. The Cleveland native was caught (on video) driving on the sidewalk to pass a parked school bus because it was stopped in the middle of the street waiting for children. An unusual crime indeed, but what’s more unusual is her punishment. A judge has ordered the woman to pay $250 in court costs and has suspended her license for 30 days. On top of that, the woman also has to wear a sign that says “Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid the school bus” at a crowded intersection for one hour a day for two days next week. Deodor-mint?

A new candy that is on the market can apparently double as deodorant and make you smell like flowers after you ingest it. Deo Perfume Candy contains geraniol which is a natural antioxidant and its fragrance, once consumed as a candy, leaves the body through the pores, creating a naturally sweet smell that can last for hours. The candy is currently for sale online only and may hit U.S. shelves soon. (via Huffington Post)
