– The Miami Marlins opened up their Spring Training schedule on Saturday with an 8 to 3 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. (via Marlins.com)
– Due to the off-season “fire sale” of the Miami Marlins, team owner Jeffrey Loria broke his silence by placing an open letter in South Florida newspapers explaining his actions. (via Yahoo! Sports)
– The under achievements of the Florida Panthers continue in this lockout shortened season. After Sunday’s 4 to 1 loss to the Boston Bruins, the Panthers are now tied for last place with only 5 wins in 18 games. (via On Frozen Pond)
