Inside The Industry: Daycare Worker Arrested For Injuring Toddler
This week’s “Inside The Industry” takes a look inside the child care industry, one of the many industries we specialize in insuring. This post is unfortunately a sad one. A Central Kentucky employee at the Georgetown Child Development Center was recently arrested for injuring a toddler, ignoring the injury and failing to report it properly. Click below to read more of the shocking details.
According to the police report, Amanda Wright was working at her job at the Georgetown Child Development Center in Kentucky earlier this month when she inexplicably pulled out a chair from underneath a toddler causing her to fall on the ground. The resulting injury left the two-year-old with a broken clavicle or collar bone. Wright then proceeded to ignore the injury to the toddler, who was in obvious pain, and told her to finish her lunch and then dispose of her plate properly.
After ignoring the apparent injury, Wright failed to complete an accident report which is clearly a requirement of the daycare facility. The report also states that Wright then ordered another employee to lie to the child’s mother about the accident and the resulting injury. When the mother arrived to pick up her daughter, she noticed the child was inured and in pain and took the girl to the emergency room. Wright was then arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Abuse of a Child 12 or Under.
