Sports Update Monday: Dolphins Blow Big Lead, Stage Set For UM/FSU, Heat Are Back & More
It was a very busy week and weekend in South Florida sports last week, that’s why BB Insurance Marketing is giving you the low down on all the sports stories in your hometown from last week. The Dolphins continue to be a mess, Canes continue to under perform and win, the Noles are literally embarrassing everyone they play, the World Series is actually crazy, the Florida Panthers are pretty terrible and the Miami Heat kick off their season tomorrow against the Bulls. Click below to check out this week’s sports stories, courtesy of BBIMI!
– After jumping out to a 17-3 lead at halftime, the Dolphins completely Dolphins’d their way out of a win and ended up letting New England score 24 unanswered points due to the aide of missed opportunities, bad calls and having a revolving door as an offensive line. (via Miami Herald)
– Straight outta’ the NCAA doghouse, the Miami Hurricanes were three touchdown favorites in a home game they eventually won against division rival Wake Forest. This is the second week in a row the ‘Canes have come out flat and rallied to win. They will have to play a perfect game to beat the Florida State Seminoles at home in a prime time showdown. (via State of The U)
– The Florida State Seminoles continued their nationwide tour of crushing dreams by destroying the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday. They Noles put up 35 points in one quarter (Wait, what?). They open up the odds as 21.5 point favorites against Miami this week. (via ESPN)
– The World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox has been historically crazy. Game 3 ended in a walk-off obstruction call, and game 4 ended with a pick-off. Me thinks this is going 7 ludicrous games. (via CBS Sports)
– The Florida Panthers have quietly opened their 20th season 3-7-2. Granted the Panthers are in re-build mode, but still, they should’ve won some of the games they lost. However, they do have a new jumbo-tron. So there’s that. (via Panther Parkway)
– Now for some positive news, the back-to-back champion Miami Heat kick-off their season opener tomorrow night against the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls look to be inspired by the return of their emotionless leader Derrick Rose. I hope he doesn’t strain his neck watching us raise our third banner. (via NBA)
