Sports Update Monday: Dolphins Win, Canes Lose, Lebron Player of the Week & More
It was a very busy week and weekend in South Florida sports last week, that’s why BB Insurance Marketing is giving you the low down on all the sports stories in your hometown from last week. The Dolphins actually won a game, the Canes continue to towards their downward spiral after losing to FSU, Lebron James is amazingly efficient whilst playing basketball and more local sports news. So check out this week’s sports stories, courtesy of BBIMI!
– The Dolphins defense took control in the 4th quarter to prevent the San Diego Chargers from stealing a win against the Dolphins at home yesterday. Although this win is pretty solid for the Fins and the final wild card spot in the AFC is literally up for grabs, the Dolphins are still looking to put the Incognito/Martin and “we actually lost to the 0-8 Buccaneers” drama behind them. – The Miami Hurricanes lost to Duke this weekend for their third loss in a row. That’s right the formerly “top 10” ranked hurricanes lost to Duke. Although the Canes have lost playmakers Phillip Dorsett and Duke Johnson to injury this year, they still controlled their own destiny in their conference and blew basically any chance of getting a rematch against FSU in the ACC Championship. – Back-to-back MVP, Finals MVP and NBA Champion Lebron James continues to get better and better every day. King James was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week (for the 44th time) for games played November 11th through the 16th. During this week he averaged 34 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists while shooting 70.2% from the field and 62.5% from three-point range. Wait..what? This guy is just too much. (via Miami Heat)
– In local sports news, American Heritage senior Jessie Brown has committed to play softball at Nova Southeastern University. She will also be joining fellow Heritage graduate Dakota Villella who committed to NSU as well. (via Sun Sentinel)
