Sticker Program for Roadside Emergencies is now in Broward County
Broward County has launched a program designed to assist residents and first responders during car accidents or other roadside medical emergencies. Broward County Mayor Marty Kiar and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue Chief Anthony Stravino introduced the Yellow Dot program during a news conference held Monday. The dot, officials said, is a sticker placed on drivers’ rear windows notifying first responders that there’s a pamphlet in the vehicle with the motorist’s medical history.
Officials said the program might make the difference between life and death in the event of an accident where victims are unable to communicate for themselves. Enrollment in the program is free and can be done on the county’s website: www.broward.org/YellowDot.
